The interior plywood reinforcement stock has been painted.
The D cell filament pack is in place and the cover is in place on the step.
   The whole pack is now together. I used 12 cells, the B+ is a little high but as the batteries drain the voltage gets closer to 90 volts.
 



     Its easy to change batteries.

  Here is Stew's (WA2AUI) aka Bud "stuffed' BA-48 shown at the MRCA meet in 2002. Note that he took advantage of "chain linking" the 9 volt batteries and has eliminated a lot of the connectors. He had two stacks of 9 volt cells and two stacks of D cells. The D cells were soldered. With all these batteries his pack should last about 12 years but they are hard to change.
