Conclusion: The hardware is the same for both the Hallicrafters OPS/FM-1B
radio and the HT-1 Village Radio. The aluminum chassis and fittings are
of aircraft quality. What was the use for the OPS/FM-1B ? My best guess
that the unit was utilized for overseas airfield/OL support such as security
and maintenance and possibly integrated into the "Village Radio"
